Rubén Carrillo is a PhD student in the Doctorate in Education, Arts and Humanities, at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Innovation (2019) and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and Jazz Guitar Studies (2015). He has been a professional musician since 2008 and has worked as a freelance guitar player, composer and arranger in several musical events. He has also been musical director in projects of rock and videogame music. Since 2008, his pedagogical experience includes teaching in his own private guitar studio, public middle schools, and as a founder and director of a private musical academy. His research experience includes an assistantship for El Sistema Literature Review (Creech et al., 2013, 2016), and his research contributions have been published in Revista Internacional de Educación Musical and Revista Portuguesa de Educação Artística.
